About me
Martha Quinn joined the Science Museum of Virginia in July 2024 as the Chief Development Officer to build support for the Science Museum’s mission. Martha was previously at Virginia Tech’s Fralin Biomedical Research Institute, and was instrumental in bringing a transformational $50M gift to the Institute. Previously, she was the Executive Director of Development at VCU Massey Cancer Center and Senior Director of Development for the Children’s Center at Johns Hopkins Medicine. Martha spent six years in progressive development leadership positions at Children’s National Health System in Washington, DC. She was Director of Development for the Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders, and later served as Senior Director of Development for the Joseph E. Robert, Jr. Center for Surgical Care and the Sheikh Zayed Institute for Pediatric Surgical Innovation. She led a $7 million campaign to build the Bunny Mellon Healing Garden dedicated to the First Ladies of the United States, an institutional project to transform 7,200 square feet of gravel roof deck into an oasis of healing for all patients. She began her development career at Virginia Tech, and previously worked for the Johns Hopkins’ Whiting School of Engineering and MedStar Health’s Franklin Square Hospital. Martha also has strong business development expertise having worked for the law firm Womble Carlyle, now Womble Bond Dickinson, earlier in her career.
Martha serves as Past Chair of the Virginia Repertory Theatre Board. Martha holds a Bachelor of Science and Masters of Science in Animal Science and Animal Nutrition, respectively, from Virginia Tech. Martha is captain of her ski boat, and enjoys being active outside, playing with her Giant Schnauzer Izzy, traveling and cooking.
