About me
Amy is a respected, sought-after community leader with over 40 years of strategic management and leadership experience in the philanthropic, corporate, and government sectors. She is Principal and Founder of Nisenson Consulting LLC since 2009, serving the nonprofit sector and specializing in board governance and best practices, strategic planning, facilitation, succession planning, and executive searches. She is also the Executive Director of the Mary Morton Parsons Foundation for the last sixteen years, where she is responsible for the leadership and oversight of $130 million in assets and $6-7 million in charitable investments. She has worked in the corporate sector at Wachovia Corporation (now Wells Fargo) as Vice President and Community Affairs Representative. Amy has a breadth of experience across board functions and served as the President of the Jewish Community Federation Board of Directors from 2022-2024. The Federation is the central fundraising, community planning, leadership development, and outreach arm of the Jewish Community. Amy has held leadership positions on several other boards, including Chair of Leadership Metro Richmond. She has served on the boards of the Richmond Forum, The YWCA of Greater Richmond, and The United Way. Amy earned a BA in International Studies from the University of Virginia.
