About me
Reagan Leatherman is a nonprofit development strategist with more than 15 years of experience turning institutional mission into donor investment. Currently serving as Director of Development at The Byrd Theatre Foundation in Richmond, Virginia, she leads Frame by Frame: Restoring Richmond's Movie Palace — a $25 million capital campaign to preserve and restore one of America's last remaining 1920s single-screen movie palaces ahead of its centennial in 2028.
Reagan is a practitioner-advocate for integrating artificial intelligence into nonprofit development operations — actively deploying AI tools to strengthen campaign messaging, streamline donor communications, and scale fundraising capacity without sacrificing the human relationships at the center of the work. She has presented to fundraising professionals on translating emerging technology into practical, mission-aligned strategy.
Her career spans arts, civic, and STEM nonprofits, where she has built and led campaigns that connect institutional storytelling to community identity. She holds a background in theatre and figure skating, which informs her belief that the most effective fundraising is, at its core, an act of narrative.
Reagan is based in Richmond, Virginia.
